The British Educational Research Association’s Heads of Department Roundtable is scheduled to take place Monday, 25 March 2019, between 10:00 and 3:30pm at Friends House in London.

The day will provide an opportunity for colleagues to meet and find areas of common interest. There is currently much to discuss, and we feel that the community will benefit from doing this at a strategic level.

We are very pleased that Prof. David James will be joining us for discussions on the REF and the meeting will also provide an opportunity to look in depth at the report and recommendations from the British Academy and Royal Society report on Harnessing Educational Research. There were some interesting recommendations you can read in the report – one of which was to establish an office of educational research to act as a coordinating body. BERA is currently working on a response to the report and that will be informed by discussions at this meeting.

A complimentary lunch will be provided.
