Call for book proposals: The BERA Guides series

BERA, in collaboration with Emerald Publishing, invites book proposals for new titles in The BERA Guides series. This series aims to provide short, accessible, research-informed guides on key issues in education for a broad audience, including researchers, practitioners, policymakers and students.

We are currently seeking proposals that address timely and impactful themes in education, particularly those that reflect the evolving landscape of educational research, policy and practice. We welcome proposals that are interdisciplinary, inclusive and grounded in scholarship.

Potential themes for upcoming volumes

We are especially interested in proposals that explore the following areas:

  • Education in a multicultural/multilingual world
  • Curriculum review across the four nations
  • Academic career development
  • Children’s activism
  • Education and democracy
  • Digital exclusion
  • Citizenship education
  • Values education
  • Early childhood education
  • Neurodiversity in education

Submission process

To express your interest in writing for the series, please email a short summary of your proposal to Kirsty Woods, Senior Commissioning Editor at Emerald Publishing (kwoods@emerald.com).
