Exploring the needs of Early Career Teachers through the Early Career Framework 21.06.22-23.06.22

The Early Career Framework (ECF), a system of mandatory CPD introduced to all English schools in September 2021. The ECF is part of the Department for Education’s Recruitment and Retention Strategy (2019) that was developed to support new teachers development in the profession and thereby enable them to have long and fulfilling careers in teaching.
The aim of the panel is to explore the support and development of early career teachers through the lens of The Early Career Framework (ECF), including the role of mentoring.

The Panel will use their own experience of the ECF, as well as emerging research findings to illuminate the discussion and there is potential to understand the ECF’s relevance to other countries seeking to retain early career teachers.

Location: ICET World Assembly, Conference, Bath Spa University.
