Sveta Mayer, Dr

Dr Sveta Mayer works at UCL Institute of Education (IOE) and is a member of the Bloomsbury Colleges Centre for Educational Neuroscience. Sveta is involved in interdisciplinary research projects focussing on drawing upon cognitive neuroscience to develop education interventions that support children and young people’s socio-emotional learning and mental health. Sveta is a qualified teacher and has considerable experience supporting education practitioners’ evidence-based practice through inquiry-based learning, from early years to KS5.

Sveta is a member of the IOE Mental Health, Wellbeing and Education Research group, BERA SIG Mental Health, Wellbeing and Education, and the Public Health England Expert Advisory Team for the One You, Every Mind Matters campaign. She is co-principal investigator for the UnLocke project funded by Education Endowment Fund/Wellcome Trust, and principal investigator evaluating the Young Londoners Youth Mental Health First Aid programme, funded by the Greater London authority.
