Senior Lecturer in Digital Education at The University of Manchester

Dr Louis Major is a senior lecturer in Digital Education at the University of Manchester. Working in the Manchester Institute of Education, he co-leads the Digital Technologies, Communication and Education (DTCE) Research and Scholarship group. Louis’s research focuses on digital technology’s role in the future of education, in particular, how this can support effective dialogue and interaction and help to address educational disadvantage. He has been part of the global EdTech Hub team since 2020, which aims to provide evidence-based advice to inform decisions about the use of technology in education. Louis is also an editor of the British Journal of Educational Technology (BJET) and founding member of the Digital Education Futures Initiative (DEFI) at the University of Cambridge, where he worked as a Senior Research Associate (2013–21).
