Alison has recently completed a PhD in Education: her research has investigated the experiences of long-serving secondary school teachers in order to explore what has challenged and sustained them through their teaching careers, including their views on teacher “resilience”.
Prior to her PhD, Alison has been involved in the education sector for over 20 years. Her roles have been as teacher, tutor, manager and senior leader in the FE sector, followed by self-employed work including training, coaching and consultancy.
Alison is now working as a Research Fellow on a mix of projects, most of which have a teacher training or wellbeing focus. She is also teaching on a range of educational related modules for a Masters in Education programme at the University of Exeter.
