14:30 – 15:15 “BERA Special Interest Groups ‘meet and network’ sessions”

BERA has 36 Special Interest Groups (SIGs), which represent different research concerns and encompass both different disciplinary approaches to educational research and different educational issues.

SIG activities and events take place across the UK and members can be involved by attending SIG meetings and events or through participation in the SIG online communities.

At BERA Conference 2024, a number of SIGS will be hosting “meet and network sessions” on the Monday lunchtime at 14:30 – 15:15.

Attend to meet the SIG convenors, network with other members and find out more about each SIG!

Tuesday 10 September 2024

13:00 – 13:45 “ECR Lunchtime Lecture: At Crossroads of Becoming”

We invite you to join our BERA ECR Community for the ECR Lunchtime Session. This has become an important feature of the BERA Conference Programme for the full diversity of ECRs in the association. We welcome masters and doctoral students, those who have completed their studies within the past 5 years, and practitioner researchers. As well as anyone who identifies as or is considering becoming an ECR.

This session will reflect the theme of our dedicated ECR Conference ‘At Crossroads of Becoming‘ (Leeds, June 2024). We will have an action session, with a research presentation from the winner of the ‘Best Presentation’ Award from the ECR Conference; a panel-based learning and development discussion led by our ECR Conference keynote speakers and ECR Convenors; and some time for broader discussion of the theme and issues of importance raised by attendees.

We will be delighted to have the ECR Rep from WERA to join us in welcoming our biggest ever ECR audience to this welcoming session. Please do join us for this interesting and engaging session!
