Nashwa Ismail, Dr

Lecturer at University of Liverpool

Dr Nashwa Ismail has a MSc and PhD in education and she is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Dr Ismail’s area of expertise is educational leadership and management with a focus on digital technologies. Her current role is lecturer in the School of Education, University of Durham, and she is leading teaching modules such as Evidence in Education Policy, Systematic Reviews, Assessing in Education and Interviews. She has eight years of experience in teaching and research in higher education in the UK. In research, she took the lead in different roles in research projects including writing bids, designing and execution of projects, and data collection and analysis using different software packages. Countries where Dr Ismail took part in research projects include Indonesia, Malaysia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Myanmar, Thailand and USA. Furthermore, Dr Ismail is a qualitative researcher and she teaches qualitative research methods and its application on Qualitative Data Analysis Software (QDAS) using NVivo, Atlas.ti and Dedoose. She has a parallel technical curriculum as Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) and is qualified in Training Assessment and Quality Assurance (TAQA).
