Digitisation and education: an interdisciplinary exploration of new and emerging questions and approaches

This online event is a collaboration between the BERA Digital Education and Philosophy of Education SIGs. We aim to create a dynamic space for postgraduate students and early career researchers to share work in progress papers, engage in discussion, and build links with other researchers.

Abstracts of 200 words max. are invited from BERA members across disciplines and at any career stage.

Successful submissions will be presented at the event as a 15-20 minute work in progress paper. Each presentation will be followed by questions from participants and discussion to provide constructive feedback and professional development.

Priority will be given to postgraduate students and early career researchers.

The format is designed to be interactive, supportive, and generative, while also ensuring that participants do not feel pressured to present detailed, finished papers or research.

Potential themes include:

  •                 Ethical Considerations in Digital Education
  •                 Philosophies of Learning in Digital Environments
  •                 Digital Citizenship and Educational Philosophy
  •                 Epistemological Shifts in the Digital Age
  •                 Existential Perspectives on Digital Learning
  •                 Posthumanism and Education in the Digital Era
  •                 Feminist Philosophy and Digital Pedagogies
  •                 Phenomenology of Online Teaching and Learning
  •                 Philosophical Foundations of Artificial Intelligence in Education

Members of both SIGs will be invited to join SIG Convenors to peer review abstract submissions.

The deadline for submissions is: 29th March
