Lorna Hamilton, Dr

Senior Lecturer at University of Edinburgh

Having worked as an English teacher and as a primary teacher, I draw on substantial experience in schools to inform my teaching. I am also passionate about educational research and the ways in which research can help inform teaching and learning and vice versa. I am currently a Senior Lecturer at Edinburgh University with a keen interest in equality and diversity issues. I have also contributed to the Scottish Educational Research Association as an executive committee member, conference convenor and network convenor as well as Vice-president and President and hope to draw on those experiences as one of the new SIG convenor team.

I am strongly committed to research into professional identity and the early professional development of teachers both in ITE and beyond.
