Kate O’Shaughnessy

Education Consultant

Kate is Director of OSC Education Ltd, and consults on a range of national and international educational projects. She is a Teaching Fellow at the Institute of Education/UCL and an Associate for their Centre for Leadership in Learning (LCLL). She has worked in Secondary and Primary education, including roles as Deputy Head/Director of Teaching School and Assistant Head i/c Teaching and Learning.

Kate began in Education with a PGCE in English. Whilst working in schools, she completed a Masters in Philosophy of Education, and is currently completing a Phd in Philosophy of Education at the IOE/UCL. She is a member of the Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain (PESGB). Her interests lie in teacher development, with a particular focus on lesson observation and dialogue. She has previously worked for OFSTED’s Research and Evaluation team, as a Researcher on their curriculum and lesson observation projects. She works with teachers, schools and educational institutions on developing teaching, learning and leadership.
