Lisa Stephenson, Dr

Reader (Associate Professor equivalent) at Leeds Beckett University

Dr Lisa Stephenson is a Reader in Creative Pedagogies, at the School of Education, Leeds Beckett University. She is the director of Story Makers: a research center which champions creative pedagogies, creative methodologies and co-participatory research with children and young people. Lisa’s research focusses on using dramatic inquiry to empower learner co-agency, wellbeing and transformative social-emotional dispositions. A former primary school teacher and senior leader, she teachers across Initial Teacher Education. She has led several national and international research projects on curriculum co-design with schools with a focus on creative activism. Her research has fed into the Oracy Commission and OECD Futures of Education policy.
