The BERA Public Engagement and Impact Award recognises and celebrates the impact of research and practice in the education community and how both have demonstrably engaged the public.
Person
Trevor Mutton is an Associate Professor at the University of Oxford, Department of Education, where he teaches and supervises on a number of programmes.
He taught modern languages for many years before being appointed to his current post in 1997. His research focuses on beginning teachers’ learning and teacher education policy and practice, both in the UK and internationally, and he is particularly interested in the way in which collaborative teacher education partnerships seek to integrate theory and practice within programmes of initial teacher education. He has been Deputy Editor of Journal of Education for Teaching of a number of years and was Vice-Chair of UCET from 2019 to 2022.
