Mark Oliver

Lecturer at University of Southern Queensland

Mark E. Oliver is a lecturer in Education at the University of Southern Queensland and teaches courses in learning psychology, psychoeducational assessment, and educational counselling for preservice and practicing teachers. Mark has a research focus on talent development, specifically cognitive and emotional individual differences. Mark co-received a Richard Johns Research Grant from Mensa Australia to investigate intuitive theories of cognition (2022) and was awarded a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship to study at the National Research Centre for the Gifted and Talented at the University of Connecticut. Mark employs mixed methodologies in his research and has a strong interest in scale development using factor analysis. Mark is currently undertaking his doctoral studies investigating pedagogical approaches to supporting first-year students.
