Lewis Fogarty is a director of a small group of nurseries in Berkshire and director of Teaching and Learning for the Department of Education at Brunel University, lecturing in leadership and management. His EdD research brings these areas together, focused on developing a new understanding of leadership in the sector. He is a trustee of TACTYC, a charity focused on the professional development of the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector and the co-convenor of the BERA special interest group for ECEC. Lewis is the dad of two boys under two, which has made his motivation for improving the ECEC sector all the more urgent and has opened his eyes wider to the challenging reality of developing those in their precious early years. Lewis looks forward to continuing to live, learn and develop all things early years, and to help to make the sector a better place for children and staff to be.
