Janice Darkes Sutcliffe has a teaching background, working in both mainstream and SEND provision. She was a local authority early years advisory teacher working closely with early years practitioners and leaders across the range of provision in the early years sector.

Janice now works independently and is a part-time lecturer at York St John University, where she is currently studying for her PhD. She has a particular interest in action research and developing collaborative and democratic working practices.
