Chi-yin Henry Liu is Hong Kong-born and bred. He is now in his final year pursuing a BEd (English) degree at the Education University of Hong Kong, minoring in teaching and learning in international schools. As a prospective teacher, he hopes to motivate students in ascertaining their inner strengths and discovering what truly inspires them. His spirit in developing cutting-edge pedagogy has earned him with ‘Distinction’ in teaching practicum. He is also the recipient of the Scholarship for Prospective English Teachers and the Seventh Hong Kong Outstanding Prospective Teachers Award. During his university years, he volunteered in UNICEF Kazakhstan as a Communications Associate. The experience led to his research interests, including: educational equality; capital theory; and global citizenship education. His undergraduate Honors Project was titled ‘A comparative study on the effectiveness of Hong Kong and Singapore’s citizenship education curriculum in cultivating students to become global citizens’.
