Alba Fejzo, Ms

Mathematics Teacher at Stoke Newington School & Sixth Form

Alba Fejzo has been teaching mathematics at Stoke Newington School since 2013. During this time, she has stepped in to cover the role of KS4 coordinator. For the last two years she has been responsible for setting up and coordinating core maths provision. Since the maths department moved to mixed attainment teaching in September 2017, she has also been involved in jointly planning lessons for mixed-attainment groups in years 7–10. This has coincided with a new whole school focus on developing students’ oracy. Prior to becoming a teacher, Alba worked as a learning support assistant in various schools in London, predominantly at Stoke Newington School for three years. Alba shares an interest in teaching maths for social justice and has, since 2017, been working on the Visible Maths Pedagogy project with Tiago Carvalho and Pete Wright, exploring and trialling ways to improve the engagement of students in the classroom.
