Conference and Events Chair

We are delighted to say that Mhairi Beaton has been elected to the position of CEC Chair for a full term, running until September 2025. This is a key leadership role within BERA and we look forward to carrying on working with Mhairi who also serves as our representative on EERA Council.

From the exceptionally field of eight strong candidates, we are pleased to say that Yuwei Xu and Sally Power have been elected to BERA Council. In addition, given the strength of candidates and to reinforce our commitment to diversity, we are pleased to announce that we are also co-opting Paul Miller to Council. All three begin their four-year terms in September 2021 and will be invited to attend BERA Council in May as observers. We are delighted to be working with the successful candidates and look forward to their individual skills, experiences and perspectives contributing to BERA’s activities in the years to come. The election turnout was 9.11%.

Many congratulations to those elected and commiserations to the unsuccessful candidates. BERA is dependent upon active members involvement and it is encouraging to see such a strong interest in serving on BERA Council. Further opportunities to join BERA Committees will be announced later in the year.
