Professor of Sociology of Education at U C L Insitute of Education

Carol Vincent is professor of sociology of education at the UCL Institute of Education and co-director of the Centre for Sociology of Education and Equity (CSEE). Carol has written and researched extensively on reactions to diversity and social difference, home–school relationships and education policy. Her two most recent funded projects were published in book form as Tea and the Queen? Fundamental British Values, Schools and Citizenship (Policy Press, July 2019) and Friendship and Diversity: Class Ethnicity and Social Relationships in the City (with Sarah Neal and Humera Iqbal, Palgrave Macmillan, 2018), and in various journal articles.
