Vicki Cann is a PhD researcher at the University of Bath. Her doctoral research is focused on school leadership and analyses how the role of the primary school headteacher changes once the school joins a multi-academy trust.

Before starting her PhD Vicki worked in primary schools for 25 years – most recently as a headteacher. Her school was recognised by the local authority as having excellent practice in SEND, pupil behaviour and wellbeing and early years education. She has expertise and interest in school improvement, school leadership, teacher development and training, subject leadership and improving teaching and learning.
