Simon Sheard, Mr

Senior Lecturer in Education at University of Sunderland

I am a Senor Lecturer as part of the International Initial Teacher Training (IITT) team at the University of Sunderland. My main role is Programme Leader and Module Leader on our very popular PGCE Education distance learning programme.
My background is in primary education as a teacher and Assistant Headteacher across schools in the North East of England. My doctoral research considers how primary school teachers select and use manipulatives (concrete resources) within their mathematics lessons as part of the Teaching for Mastery approach advocated by the Maths Hubs.
I am a Senior Fellow of AdvanceHE (SFHEA).
