Sanghamitra Bandyopadhyay is professor of Development Economics at the School of Business and Management, and deputy director of the Centre for Globalisation Research at Queen Mary University of London, and visiting professor at the International Inequalities Institute, London School of Economics. She specialises in the measurement of inequality and poverty, and in the economics of growth and development. She is co-editor of the Review of Development Economics and Research on Economic Inequality, and leads the research group Research Circle for the Study of Inequality and Poverty. She has taught at the London School of Economics (LSE), Oxford and Birmingham Universities, and has a PhD from the LSE
