Associate Professor in Applied Linguistics at University of Oxford

Robert Woore is Associate Professor in Applied Linguistics at Oxford University Department of Education. His main research interests centre on the learning and teaching of foreign languages in instructed contexts, particularly in school classroom settings. In particular, his work has focussed on the development of reading skills and strategies, the role of phonology in reading and the teaching of foreign language phonics. As a PGCE tutor for Modern Languages, Robert is passionate about strengthening the interface between research, pedagogy and teachers’ professional learning.
