Pavla Boulton is a senior lecturer in early years education at the University of South Wales. Pavla’s specialist interests include outdoor learning and play pedagogies; the collision between the pedagogies of the outdoors and technology, and the role of connecting with nature to support children’s wellbeing. Pavla has facilitated her students in publishing an outdoor learning teaching toolkit for the early years, predicated on Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris’s book The Lost Words (2017, London: Hamish Hamilton). Pavla is a National Teaching Fellow and collaborates with partners on various projects that promote the importance of outdoor learning and play in children’s development.
