Paul Croll is emeritus professor of education at the University of Reading where he was the first director of the Institute of Education. He has served as editor of the British Journal of Educational Studies and on the Economic and Social Research Council’s Grants Assessment Panel, Centres and Large Grants Panel, Professorial Fellowships Panel and Commissioning Panel for Research Seminars. Professor Croll is a fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences.
