Nicola Currie

Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Edinburgh

Nicola Currie is a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Edinburgh. She is currently working on the Leverhulme Trust Reading and Wellbeing project, exploring readers’ perceptions of whether, and how, reading narrative fiction supports wellbeing. Nicola’s PhD research examined developmental differences in primary school children’s inference generation, with a focus on how vocabulary knowledge and memory support this skill. After completing her PhD, Nicola worked on several projects at Lancaster University investigating language and literacy skills in children and adolescents.
