Mamta Naik is the programme leader of the Primary PGCE Programme and senior lecturer in initial teacher education at Manchester Metropolitan University. Following a number of years working as a primary school teacher, she moved into a local authority consultant role, where she focused on addressing educational inequalities – specifically for multilingual learners and for children of black heritage, then moving to a consultant role for primary mathematics education. Mamta is currently researching primary mathematics education and maintains a strong passion for social justice.
