Senior Lecturer and Course Leader of PGCE Secondary, Modern Languages at St Mary's University, Twickenham

Lisa Panford is a Senior Lecturer and the Course Leader of PGCE Secondary – Modern Languages at St Mary’s University, Twickenham. She is an active and committed member of SMU’s Race Equality Charter Self-Assessment Team.

Lisa is a former Lead Practitioner with over 14 years’ experience teaching languages (MFL) in London secondary schools. Her previous roles also include: Professional Coordinating Mentor, Subject Mentor and Coach to teachers at various stages of their careers.
Lisa is an Association for Language Learning (ALL) Council member and founding co-chair of the ALL Decolonise Secondary MFL Special Interest Group (De-colonising the Curriculum – Association for Language Learning) . She is a member of the Advisory Council at the Institute of Modern Languages Research (IMLR) (School of Advanced Study, University of London).

Lisa believes in the transformative potential of languages education and is passionate about amplifying conversations around diverse representation for positive impact on our young people in schools.
