Dr Kristy Howells is a reader in physical education and sport pedagogy at Canterbury Christ Church University, where she teaches across the Physical Education Primary Education QTS programmes and supervises both master’s by research and doctorate students within sport and exercise science and education. Her research expertise is in the field of primary education including physical education, physical activity interventions, teaching and coaching, reflective practice, physical development, physical activity, mental wellbeing and public health and nutrition. She currently co-leads the AIESEP (International Association of Physical Education in Higher Education) Early Years special interest group and is a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Fit and Healthy Childhood Group.
