Julian Ayres is a Senior Lecturer in Education at Glyndwr University, Wrexham.

Julian is a doctoral student at the University of Bolton. His research seeks to evaluate the implementation of Mental Resilience Training strategies from the armed forces, nursing and endurance sport to those studying their teacher training programmes to assist with retention and career progression.

Before starting at Glyndwr University, Julian worked as an FE teacher in a range of adult and community learning settings including PRU centres, post-16 learning support, and a mission shelter to support vulnerable adults. These experiences have led to further interest in the nature of motivation and transformational experiences to assist a person's positive progression in life.

His current role is based on lecturing on the PGCE (PCET) programme as well as a range of education and social and life sciences courses.
