Julia Everitt, Dr

Research Fellow at Birmingham City University

Dr Julia Everitt is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Birmingham City University (BCU) and has worked in higher education as a researcher since 2014. Julia was awarded her doctorate in 2018 and as a researcher has been involved in over 30 research projects including many for external clients. Julia’s background was as a Community Learning Leader, Further Education Manager and owner of a social enterprise. At BCU, Julia is a teaching team member for the Professional Doctorate in Education (EdD) and the Postgraduate Certificate in Research Practice. She supervises postgraduate candidates on the MA in Education, EdD and PhD and is a co-facilitator on the SEDA accredited ‘Community of Practice for Doctoral Supervision’ staff development programme. Julia was previously a co-convenor of the BERA PG Forum and is a group facilitator of the BCU ECR Network. Julia is the Journal Editor for Transformations, a journal for newer researchers on behalf of BESA where she has been on the Executive Committee for many years. Julia’s current projects and research interests focus on higher education, doctoral education, doctoral supervision and educational partnerships.
