Jodie Torrington

PhD candidate at Macquarie University

Jodie Torrington is a PhD candidate in the School of Education at Macquarie University. She is an experienced primary school teacher who has taught in a range of settings throughout Australia and New Zealand. Her focus in recent years has been on the authentic integration of technology in the classroom, particularly through 1:1 iPad use. Jodie has developed and led professional learning for teachers about technology use in the classroom and currently tutors in pre-service education units at Macquarie University. Her research has examined the use of teacher-created instructional videos in the primary school on student academic, behavioural and affective engagement. She is currently researching to what extent young students can be taught to self-regulate both their technology use and learning while using technology.
