Ian Gilbert is an educator, entrepreneur and award-winning writer and editor based partly in the UK and partly in the Netherlands. Described by IB Magazine as one of its 15 top ‘educational visionaries’, he founded the influential organisation Independent Thinking in 1994. He has worked in education in the Middle East, South America, Asia and Europe. His books include Why Do I Need a Teacher When I’ve Got Google? and Essential Motivation in the Classroom (both published by Routledge), and The Little Book of Thunks (Crown House Publishing), a best-seller making children’s brains hurt in classrooms across the globe.
