Dr Helen Lewis is director of initial teacher education at Swansea University. Her background is in primary, initial and continuing teacher education, and she has previously worked as a teacher and local authority curriculum adviser. Her main research interests lie in the principles and pedagogies relating to the development of children’s thinking skills and metacognition, and in exploring approaches to reflective practice, animal-assisted interventions and practitioner research.
