Geert Kelchtermans studied philosophy and educational sciences at the University of Leuven (KU Leuven, Belgium), where he now chairs the Center for Innovation and the Development of Teacher and School as a full professor in education. He also was a visiting professor at the universities of Bergen (Norway), Oulu (Finland) and Linz (Austria), and at ACU Sydney. His research focusses on the complex interactions between individual educational professionals (and their biographies) and their organisational and institutional contexts, as well as qualitative research methods. His recent research topics have included policy enactment, micropolitics in schools, teacher induction and the emotional dimension of teaching and educational leadership.
