Felix Kwihangana, Dr

Lecturer in Education at University of Manchester

Felix is a lecturer in (Digital) Education and the programme director for the MA Digital Technologies, Communication and Education–Distance Learning at the Manchester Institute of Education, University of Manchester. His research and teaching focus on the educational use of digital technologies, with a particular research interest in digital technologies in under-resourced contexts. He is specifically interested in the way teachers develop digital competencies and how these shape their digital teacher identities in under-resourced contexts where ICT in education policies’ ambitions and resources are in constant dissonance. He has previously worked as a language teacher, teacher educator, teacher trainer in Rwanda. He has also worked on teacher development projects in low-tech environments in Rwanda, Ghana, Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire and India. He is also co-leading the Digital Inequalities strand of the Digital Technology, Communication & Education research group (DTCE RSG) at Manchester.
