Elizabeth is a Teaching Fellow in Music Education and Performance at the University of Leeds. She previously studied at the Universities of Cambridge and Sheffield, and, following the completion of her doctorate in music education in 2022, she undertook research with the Sheffield Performer and Audience Research Centre, the Birmingham Music Education Research Group, and as a Junior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford. Her work on inclusivity, vulnerability, and care in secondary music education has been published widely, including in her 2025 monograph, 'Musical Vulnerability'. At present Elizabeth is also an external member of the Group for Research in Music Education at Cardiff Metropolitan University and the assistant editor for the international peer-reviewed journal, Research Studies in Music Education. Between 2023 and 2025, she was the recipient of an Early Career Researcher Career Development Fellowship from the British Educational Research Association.
