Deborah Outhwaite, Dr

Director at University of Liverpool

Deb Outhwaite has worked in education for more than 25 years. She has taught and examined at A-level, held leadership roles, spent a decade in higher education teaching both undergraduates and postgraduates, and is currently the programme leader of the MA in professional education at Warwick University. She is currently the director of Developing Teachers, Schools and Academies (formerly known as the Derby Teaching Schools Alliance), and is a part-time EdD supervisor at the University of Liverpool. She has sat on the All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Teaching Profession since 2015, and sits on the Fabian Education Group. She has been a secondary governor in an 11–18 comprehensive school, and is a member of a school trust. Deb is vice-chair of the British Educational Leadership, Management and Administration Society, and previously sat on the IPDA International Committee. She co-convenes the research interest group on Leadership Preparation and Development (LPD), and attends the BERA Educational Leadership special interest group.
