Anna Playle, Ms

Head of Subject/ Psychotherapist at University of South Wales

Anna Playle is an integrative arts psychotherapist, lecturer and supervisor. Her expertise in clinical practice is in multidisciplinary mental health and post abuse/trauma services within the NHS and third sector organisations including the NSPCC and Action for Children. Anna is a senior fellow of the Higher Education Academy, an affiliated lecturer at Cambridge University Faculty of Education, and the Open University Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. She provides supervision and consultation to therapists, educators and organisations in the community. Anna is an associate editor of the International Journal of Art Therapy. She is undertaking a PhD in psychological perspectives of professional practice, exploring concepts of burnout and moral injury. Her thesis focuses on risk and protective factors and how working context impacts on professional identity post-qualification. Other research interests include: creative methodologies, arts in education and health, and widening participation in higher education.
