Harper Staples is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Education at the Technical University in Munich, Germany. She has a Doctorate in Educational Sciences from the University of Cambridge, where her research focused on adolescent multilingual learner identity development and the outcomes for pedagogy and policy. She has held academic positions in both China and the United Kingdom. Her current research draws on mixed-methods approaches to explore how student self-concept shapes engagement in different language contexts, and the role of arts-based education in fostering young learner social-emotional learning.
