Niamh McGrogan, Ms

PGCE Programme Leader and Senior Lecturer at Bath Spa University

Niamh McGrogan is a PGCE programme leader and senior lecturer at Bath Spa University. Her career began in children’s social care services before progressing into counselling and subsequently education. As a class teacher, head of year, and mathematics lead in a large Kent primary school, she obtained her Master’s degree with the Open University and progressed to an academic career at Bath Spa University.

Her passion for supporting future teachers extends into her research which focuses on supporting teachers in engaging with and in research, collaborating with both students and schoolteachers to conduct research in the classroom that can enhance professional development and understanding of practice. Her current doctoral research investigates research-capacity building through such collaborative research activity.
