Lorraine Cale, Professor

Professor at Loughborough University

Lorraine Cale is a professor in physical education and sport pedagogy and the associate dean, teaching in the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences at Loughborough University, and an adjunct professor at the University of Limerick in Ireland. She is a former physical educator and current physical education teacher educator, and her research interests centre broadly on the promotion of physical activity and healthy lifestyles within schools, both within and beyond the curriculum.

Lorraine publishes her research in both academic and professional journals and has presented at numerous national and international conferences. Over the years she has also produced practical resources and designed and delivered professional development for physical education teachers. In addition, Lorraine has formerly served as an elected member of the executive committee for the UK’s Association for Physical Education, and is an honoured member in recognition of her significant contribution to the Association’s aims and objectives.
