Ms. Zih-Jia Huang is a first-year master’s student at National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, focusing on immersive technology and technology-enhanced learning. Her research explores how virtual reality (VR) can be used to support STEAM education, helping learners engage more deeply through interactive and creative experiences.
Our VR workshop for the STEAM Education Research SIG, “Developing a VR-based LEGO Interactive Learning System for STEAM Education,” investigates how VR environments combined with hands-on activities can inspire curiosity and foster problem-solving skills. Zih-Jia is passionate about exploring how technology can make learning more meaningful and enjoyable, particularly in ways that connect imagination with real-world applications.
Attending the BERA Annual Conference 2025 was her first experience participating in an international academic event. It was an inspiring opportunity for her to share research, connect with scholars from around the world, and learn from their insights. Receiving the BERA SIG Best Presentation Award (STEAM Education Research) is an incredible honour and a great encouragement at the beginning of her academic journey.
This recognition motivates her to continue exploring how immersive technologies can enrich learning experiences and to contribute to the growing field of STEAM education through research, innovation, and collaboration. She can be reached via LinkedIn or by email at jiajia0268@gapp.nthu.edu.tw.
