Rachel Benchekroun, Dr

Lecturer at University College London

Rachel Benchekroun is a scholar of social inequalities, mobilities and relational practices. She is currently a Lecturer in Sociology at UCL IOE and University of Roehampton. Rachel’s ethnographic doctoral research explored how restrictive immigration policy in the UK constrains mothering practices and shapes mothers’ interpersonal relationships, access to support and wellbeing. Rachel is currently engaged in co-produced research with young people in the project ‘Intergenerational Perspectives on Growing Up in Coastal Towns’.
