Dr Navan Govender (he/they) (SFHEA) is a scholar-activist whose interdisciplinary research and teaching explores the relationship between language, meaning-making, power, identity, and ideology in education. Through critical, queer, and decolonial paradigms, Navan’s work seeks to bridge theory, research, and practice in contextually relevant ways that further social justice. Navan is currently a lecturer in applied language & literacy studies at the University of Strathclyde, the UK Literacy Association’s (UKLA) vice-president, and co-editor of the Reading Teacher journal.
