Kate Russell, Dr

Associate Professor at University of East Anglia

Dr Kate Russell is an Associate Professor in Physical Education and Sport at the University of East Anglia’s School of Education and Lifelong Learning. Her research focuses on the intersections of gender, sexuality, health, identities, body image, education and sporting issues for both adults and youth populations. Current research interests include the negotiation of gender and sexuality in teacher education, the understanding of and need for mental health and wellbeing support for trainee teachers, the impact of online learning in the wellbeing of Chinese students during COVID, gender and sexuality within sporting contexts, and the role of mindfulness in the development of early years literacy. In addition, she is also chair of the University Research Ethics Committee at UEA.
