Jo Skelton is a Senior Lecturer in Primary Mathematics in the School of Education, Humanities and Languages. She is also the course lead for the International Postgraduate Certificate of Education (iPGCE), working with teachers globally. Previously, Jo has led mathematics within the ITE department, working with undergraduate and postgraduate trainee teachers. She now leads on International Education within the MA Education department. She is also a visiting fellow of Akal University, part of the Kalgidhar Trust in India.

Jo’s research interests focus on mathematics education and applied linguistics. She has a particular interest in multilingualism within the mathematics classroom and has led a number of research projects focusing on this area. She is an active member of the mathematics research community nationally and internationally.
