Jacquie Ayre, Mrs

Global Learning Education Officer at Liverpool World Centre

Jacquie has more than 30 years’ experience as a secondary school teacher and Faculty lead for Citizenship and PSHE in the North West of England. She has taught an extensive range of subjects including Citizenship and PSHE, Geography, History, RE and Sociology.

In addition, within school Jacquie has worked as a Professional Mentor [in charge of teacher training] liaising with North West universities supporting their PGCE courses.

Jacquie has gained significant experience of delivering Citizenship education across a large secondary school. She has worked with many North West charities as well as Young Citizens, running drop down days, social action projects and mock elections.

Jacquie has worked at the Liverpool World Centre since 2018 working on projects around the Sustainable Development Goals. This has involved developing teaching resources for Key Stage 3 on Migration, Climate Change, Gender, and International Inequality. A large part of her role has been to deliver the Get up and Goals collaborative project running across 12 EU countries. This exciting project has many free resources available for schools to use to get teachers excited about embedding the Global Goals into their work.

She also works as a Local Adviser on the British Council Connecting Classrooms Through Global Learning programme. In addition Jacquie works as a Liaison Tutor for the PGCE/D course at Liverpool John Mores University and is a trustee for the charity Young Citizens, this is a national charity promoting Citizenship Education.
