Hongyi Zhao is a postgraduate researcher at the School of Education, University of Leeds. He was the leader of the second-day registration team, and was on the hospitality team and material-printing team at the BAAL Vocab SIG Conference 2024. His research interests include vocabulary teaching, learning and assessment, with a particular focus on vocabulary in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and English for Specific Purposes (ESP) through corpus linguistics. He has a bachelor’s degree in English Language Education, a master’s degree in TESOL studies, and holds the CAT-TESOL certificate. He is a teaching assistant for postgraduate modules and a research assistant at the University of Leeds.
